The Arundel Volleyball team beat the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders in a three set sweep, late Thursday night.

The Wildcats struggled at some points in the match, but went on huge runs throughout the game to stay on top.  They won set one 25-16, set two 25-22, and secured the victory with a 25-9 set three win.

Alicia Eldredge finished with a phenomenal night, posing 18 assists, 5 aces, and 6 digs.  Chyna Gubbings also came up big with 7 kills and 3 aces.

”We’re watching a lot of film to see what we need to improve and focus on in the upcoming game.” said court captain Alicia Eldredge, “we’re trying to have fun and give our everything.”

The Wildcats volleyball team hasn’t won a state championship since 1953, and haven’t been in the state final match since they went back to back in 2011 and 2012.  The only team to stand in their way is the Northwest Jaguars, the Jaguars are looking to win consecutive state championships, as they swept Sherwood in the state finals last year.  The game will take place on Saturday, November 18th at Ritchie Coliseum at 2:30 pm.
