In second year under coach Kramer, Arundel Boys lacrosse looking to contend

The Arundel Boys Lacrosse team looks ready to contend for a state title after a 7-9 record last year under 1st year head coach Larry Kramer.

The Wildcats will bring back quite the trio on offense; junior midfielder Riley Newman, (20 goals and 15 assists last season), Junior Attackman Eric Ranck (team high 31 goals and 15 assists), and junior attackman Max Galasso (24 goals and 12 assists).

On defense, they are anchored by Junior  Defensemen Alex Reno(a Towson commit) and Senior Defensemen Mikey Demaio (a Limestone College commit), along with Sophomore starting Goalie Patrick Sweeney, who boasted a  62% save percentage in 2016 as a freshman starter.

“I’m pretty excited, we got a pretty good team this year. We have a lot of returning juniors and seniors on varsity and we look to bring the state title back to Arundel this year,” Reno said.

Senior midfielder Isaiah Freeman stressed the importance of beating county rivals rivals Old Mill, Severna Park, and South River. Severna Park won the Maryland 4A state title last year, while South River put together a memorable playoff run.

Tryouts began March 1st and the the team kicks off the regular season March 10th at home against Glenelg.
