Last Tuesday, the Arundel Boy’s varsity basketball team pulled off a narrow win over North County, beating them 64-63.
Christian Thornton was the unquestioned leader, scoring 20 points. Jamel Walker, who got the start with the absence of Micheal Joyner, also chipped in with 10 points.
Arundel’s Ian Hogan scores a basket during a game against Annapolis earlier this year.
However Arundel could not continue their winning ways on Friday night as they lost at the hands of Southern with a score of 59-41. Christian Thornton again led the team with 11 points while Jamel Walker and Quest Delaney contributed with 5 and 6 points each. “Southern played tremendous defense tonight, and we could not break their 3-2 zone,” Head Coach Rodney Ramsey told the Capital Gazette. The loss drops Arundel to 11-7.
You can see the Wildcats play tonight here at Arundel High School against Chesapeake and on Friday on the road at Annapolis.
